Sarvesh Karthick – Percussionist
Born on 13th March 2000, Sarvesh Karthick is an interesting blend of natural talent and focused training. He has the ability to easily grasp any pattern and is keen to try his hands on all instruments. His parents ‘Ghatam’ Karthick and Anjana Karthick have put in a lot of efforts in grooming him and sharpen his skills further. Sarvesh’s grandmother is Smt. Padma Subramaniam who is a trained classical vocalist, inspires him.
Sarvesh Karthick is doing his 9th Standard in Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, K.K. Nagar. Sarvesh learns Mridhangam from Vidwan Sri.Subash Chandran following his first lessons from Swaminatha Tala Vidyalaya. He performs unique instruments in his father’s group ‘The HEARTBEAT Ensemble’. He also has the talent to play the Ghatam, Kanjira, Drums and recite Konakkol (Verbal Percussion) by himself. Sarvesh is a keen participant in all educational, musical and cultural events at his school. Sarvesh has already won many awards, incentives and honours from the school for his academic and artistic pursuits.
Sarvesh has given various presentations by performing in several organizations like The Music Forum, Isai Mazhalai, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, The Madras Music Academy, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Num TV, Mudhra, Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha, Chennaiyil Tiruvaiyaaru etc.
Sarvesh was blessed by the Bass Guitar Legend Victor Wooten for his rhythmic talent. Sarvesh has also had Master Classes in Drums from Virtuosos Dafnis Prieto, Jovol Bell, Atma Anur, Lyndon Rochelle and many others. He has the pride and pleasure of calling himself a MANASEEGA disciple of ‘GRAMMY Award’ winner, Ghatam Maestro Sri. “Vikku” Vinayakram.
Sarvesh has had the privilege to get the blessings of great legends like Chevalier Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, Sri. T.H. Subash Chandran, Late. Smt. M. S. Subulakshmi, Late. Smt. D. K. Pattammal, Mrudanga Chakravarthy Dr. Umayalpuram K. Sivaram, etc.
Sarvesh is also keen in equipping himself in Acting, Drawing and Painting. Sarvesh has also acted with Film Legend ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ Sri. Kamal Hassan in his venture ‘Dasavatharam’ in Mukunda Mukunda Song. Sarvesh has also performed Ghatam in Num TV as a Guest Performer in 2004. He includes a feather to his hat by reciting complex Sanskrit Slokas. He has so far won a few prizes, which are motivating him in his growth and career. Sarvesh is very keen to make a name for himself in Animation too.
